CLASS DESCRIPTIONS

We are proud to offer a wide range of dance styles for students, including ballet, jazz, lyrical, tap, musical theatre, contemporary, pointe, acro and hip hop in both our recreational & competitive dance programs in Belleville, Ontario!

Our dance classes range from our very popular "Tippy Toes" classes for 2 to 3 year olds, to fully immersed competitive programs.  Dance classes begin in September and run straight through until June, culminating with a year-end recital.

Class Sizes

Classes are kept small to ensure the quality of instruction.  We want each child to get the proper attention and instruction needed to allow for proper growth!

Fall Schedule

Tippy Toes (2-3 years)

Children are introduced to foundations of dance in a creative, playful environment. This program develops basic body movements through rhythm, music and song. Children will learn to point their toes, balance, skip, march, learn ballet runs, plies, and storytelling through the fundamentals of dance and ballet.

Ballet

Ballet is a traditional and formal dance style known for its elegance and beautiful lines.  Ballet is the foundation of all dance forms and an essential ingredient in a well-rounded dance education.  Students are taught skills such as posture, poise, turnout, grace, and strength.  A structured Ballet barre and centre floor practice are introduced at various levels and stages.
Tiny Tutus is our Ballet class for ages 4-6

Jazz

Jazz is a fundamental dance form that complements all other dance forms.   Jazz is an expressive and energetic dance style that encourages strong technique, builds strength and promotes individual style.  A fun and popular style of dance which incorporates famous historical dance steps with dynamic movement and current pop music.  Leaping, Turning, and high energy learning make this class a very popular choice.
Jitterbug Jazz is our Jazz class for ages 4-6

Tap

Tap teaches counting, rhythm, coordination and style.  Performed by the likes of Gene Kelly, Fred Astaire and Shirley Temple, tap is a musical dance form characterized by sounds made by the feet on the floor as a form of percussion.  Students will learn basic, progressive, and intricate tap steps and rhythm combinations.
Tiny Tappers is our tap class for ages 4-6

Acro/Tumbling

Acro is a gymnastics class where dancers will learn how to properly execute acrobatic tricks and develop gymnastics skills.  This class is Ideal for developing strength, motor skills, agility, and coordination.  Acro dance is exciting to watch, bending, leaps, flipping, and handstands are just a few of the tricks introduced.  Partner tricks and stacking are taught to at advanced level.

Hip Hop

Hip Hop is a fast-tempo, urban style of dance that encompasses a variety of techniques.  All the latest trends and styles are taught in this exciting class. This popular class is a high-energy dance experience that is fun for dancers of all ages!
Kidz Crew is our Hip Hop class for ages 4-6

Musical Theatre

Musical Theatre is designed to enhance the spirit of acting and singing in a theatrical Broadway style.   This program combines dance movements with an emphasis on developing acting and performance skills.  Routines and combinations are inspired by musicals and movies.  Dancers will use facial expressions and body movements to portray different characters and storylines.

Lyrical

In this class, dancers employ movement to express the emotion in a piece of music.  Lyrical combines the beauty and grace of ballet and the style and strength of classical jazz.  Music is soft and flowing.  Balance, extension, and control are developed.  Classes are available for the experienced ballet dancer.

Contemporary

Contemporary is a unique dance style, incorporating classical, modern and jazz styles of dance all into one.  Strong technique is required in contemporary dance, as it combines the strong and controlled leg work of ballet and modern dance‚Äôs stress on the torso. It employs contact-release, floor work, fall and recovery, and demonstrates a strong, playful element of musicality.

Conditioning

Our conditioning classes are designed to complement all other dance training. Emphasis is placed on core strength, proper muscle use and development, as well as cardiovascular training. Concepts learned in this class can be applied in all other classes to help achieve a strong and functional physique. This class is high energy and a lot of fun.

Leaps & Turns

Intermediate and advanced students will be trained on how to execute leaps and turns. This class is mandatory for competitive dancers.
