Miss Jocelyn Perry ~ Artistic Advisor and Instructor

Miss Jocelyn Perry has been teaching the performing arts since 2005 and is well versed in varying styles of dance such as ballet, pointe, jazz, tap and contemporary. Miss Jocelyn holds an Honours BA from the University of Toronto's Theatre and Performance Studies program, she has studied Musical Theatre at St. Lawrence College and acting at Sheridan College. She is a co-founder of Quinte Youth Actor's Company and has produced and directed multiple productions. She also is a founding member of Tweed and Co. Theatre Company. Miss Jocelyn has trained with the Canadian soprano Elizabeth McDonald and is currently working toward her Royal Conservatory ARCT Certificate. Miss Jocelyn has taught at numerous summer theatre camps in the area including Tweed Youth Summer Theatre and the Empire Theatre Summer Camp, and has worked with local elementary school teachers to provide intensive art-based learning in drama and dance. Additionally, Miss Jocelyn has taught both recreational and competitive dancers in the local region, Ballet with St. Lawrence College in the Peer-Teaching programme, and Ballet, Early Dance and Musical Theatre at the Quinte Ballet School of Canada. Her production credits include : Stage Manager with Tweed & Co Theatre (formerly Iana Theatre Company) (Last Five Years) and Erindale Fringe (2008), Director of Therac25 (Erindale Fringe), Munchkin Co-ordinator with Moon Path Productions (The Wizard of Oz), and Wardrobe Coordinator at Quinte Ballet School. As a performer, she was fortunate enough to be a part of the Stirling Festival Theatre for six seasons. Favourite professional stage credits include Diana (Anne of Green Gables) and Bette (Oliver). Miss Jocelyn brings a love of performance and arts exploration to The Dance Company and is an intrinsic member of our team.

Gizella Witkowsky ~ Guest Ballet Instructor

The Dance Company is pleased to welcome Ms. Gizella Witkowsky as our guest senior ballet instructor. Ms. Gizella, a graduate of The National Ballet School, has enjoyed an illustrious 20 year career performing with The National Ballet of Canada. Gizella has had the honour of performing lead roles in all of the major classical ballets, has worked with many world renowned choreographers and performed with some of the world's greatest dancers. Ms Gizella shares with our students her extensive knowledge and experience of theatre and dance productions while inspiring our future generations to develop a love of the Arts.



Crystal Whyte R.A.D. (TC), A.I.S.T.D N.B.S TTP (Dip) ~ Competition Coach/Guest Teacher

Crystal Whyte is an accomplished performer, instructor and adjudicator of dance. She is an alumnus of Canada's National Ballet TTP, and has been currently on staff at the Quinte Ballet School of Canada for over 10 years. She is one of the original Canadian cast members of Mirvish's Crazy For You, and has performed in several different industrials, commercials, and television shows. Crystal is known for her high energy and innovative choreography and workshops, where she teaches a variety of dance disciplines such as jazz, tap, hip hop, national dance, and ballet. She holds teaching status with the R.A.D., and the National and Cecchetti branches of the I.S.T.D., as well as being a certified instructor with the ADAPT organization. Many of the students who have trained under Crystal have gone on to perform professionally in many areas of the performing arts. This includes Riyo Mori - Miss Universe 2007, The Rockettes, Cats, Opera Atelier, Showboat, Anne of Green Gables, various Cruise Ships, Dirty Dancing, Ballet B.C., and Ballet Jorgen. In addition, Crystal is an advocate of arts education and continues to teach dance and drama in the public school sector. After graduating Queen's University with a Master's Degree in History, Crystal then began using her Bachelor of Education Degree to teach elementary school with the H.P.E.D.S.B.


Miss Hailey Proud, Associate Ballet (C.D.T.A.) ~ Instructor / Choreographer

Miss Hailey has been dancing and performing since a very young age. Studying under multiple syllabi such as RAD, CDTA, BATD and Cecchetti methods she has recently graduated the CDTA syllabi in both jazz and ballet and has completed her CDTA Associate Ballet qualifications. Hailey has been awarded scholarships to multiple dance intensives such as TOES and OIP  in Toronto. Additionally, she has taken part in NUVO dance conventions for multiple years as both a dancer and choreographer, taking workshops from individuals such as Travis Wall, Stacey Tookey, Jason Parsons, and many more. Hailey began choreographing competitively at a young age, and her commitment and dedication to competitive choreography has only increased over time. Hailey has experience in choreographing and instructing a wide variety of ages, from 2 to 16 and her choreography has received many overall, special and high scoring awards from various competitions in Ontario. Many of her students have received scholarships for their performances taught and guided by Miss Hailey. In recent years her choreography has received multiple overall awards such as the “Out of the Box” accolade at Shooting Stars Competition, and the overall choreographic choice for the mini division at Shine Dance Competition.

Hailey is currently entering her third year of study at the University of Western Ontario for Medical Science. She has continued her dance education as a member of DanceForce at Western, training in jazz, contemporary, lyrical and ballet. Next year she will be returning to Western as an executive member of the DanceForce dance team and will be continuing her teaching as an executive instructor. We look forward to having her return to our team for our summer months and as a choreographer for the upcoming fall season.


Miss Nikki De Haan ~ Acro/Tumbling

With over 10 years of gymnastics coaching experience and a Bachelor of Physical Education from Brock University, Miss Nikki De Haan is well versed not only in gymnastics but in the general nature of physical activity. With previous training in both Artistic Gymnastics and Trampoline Coaching coupled with teaching acro for multiple years in a dance school setting, Miss Nikki is accustomed to working with students of a variety of ability levels, from novice to highly-skilled. Through creative lesson planning Miss Nikki has been able to work closely with dancers in order to perfect the skills necessary for their dance routines, with outstanding results. Additionally, Miss Nikki is certified with the Ontario College of Teachers and has worked in both public and secondary schools, and has been an active volunteer with the S.N.A.P (Special Needs Activity Program) in St. Catharines, Ontario. Her extensive experience working with youth paired with her devotion to physical education and gymnastics makes her a large asset to our staff.


Miss Kate Dafoe ~ Hip Hop 

Miss Kate began dancing at a young age, and quickly developed a passion for hip hop. After dancing recreationally as a child and eventually competitively throughout her teens, she began teaching hip hop to both recreational and competitive dancers. She has trained under the BATD and has attended the BATD workshops in Toronto for hip hop. Additionally, she has taught and choreographed at various local studios and led dance programs in two different elementary schools within the region. Miss Kate has volunteered with the Quinte Dancing with the Stars charity competition for three years, and had her designated couple place second within the competition in her first year of volunteering. Apart from hip hop, Miss Kate has a degree in fitness and health promotion from St. Lawrence College, is a certified CanFitPro Fitness Instructor Specialist, and has led fitness boot camps for women within the area. We are thrilled to have Miss Kate bring her tenacity and experience to our staff.


Miss Piper Proud ~ "Tippy Toes", "Tiny Tutus", "Jitterbug Jazz",  and "Tiny Tappers" 

Miss Piper began dancing at a very young age, both recreationally and competitively, and has trained under several certified syllabi such as RAD, BATD and CDTA.  Piper has taught and assisted for multiple years, and we are excited for her to continue her training and teaching with our team.  Miss Piper brings a boundless energy and fresh perspective to her classes!




Miss Kendal Robinson ~ "Tippy Toes" and "Tiny Tutus"

Miss Kendal Robinson is a seasoned dancer, beginning at the young age of 3. She has received professional ballet training from the Quinte Ballet School of Canada, The Nacional Ballet de Cuba, and The School of Dance in Ottawa. After teaching dance classes of varying ages and conducting master's research throughout New England, U.S.A, Miss Kendal became a registered Dance Movement Therapist with the American Dance Therapy Association. Kendal introduces creative movement to toddlers and young children though an in-depth understanding of healthy psychomotor development. By using movement, expressive play and repeated ritual class planning she aims to provide children with the opportunity to explore dance and creative movement along with enhancing social relationship skills in a supportive environment. In addition to this, she specializes in "Mommy and Me" classes which cater to young toddlers under the age of two, and work to increase the emotional bond between child and caregiver. Miss Kendal is a valuable member of our team, possessing unique qualifications with a strong background in dance.
